Knit look beanie
I’ve always had to make these and it’s very tedious but it’s the one hat that my hubby loves the look of. It’s actually pretty easy with just a 2 row repeat, however you must count each row, keep your Row 2 stitches loose also.
Written in English
ss- slip stitch
sc- single crochet
I will give you the how to instructions here…
R1: scx33, turn
R2: ssx33, ch1, turn
I do this for however many rows I need depending on what yarn and hook.
Ending on R3, ss the side in the back so the “rib” comes out. With right side together, Sc crochet along the top of the hat leave long tail and tie off. Weave the tail in and out of the sc just made pull tight than I usually weave around top to make sure there isn’t any gaping hole.
Turn hat right side out, sc along the bottom. Use whatever stitches you prefer for the band of the hat
My hats measure 8 ½ inches in height and width.
Grey hat is the new Red Heart UV activated yarn it’s a thicker 4 weight
I used a 4.5mm hook and did 82 rows.
For the band I did 1 sc row, 3 hdc rows
For the other hat posted here I used Premier everyday yarn thinner 4 weight and Buttercream Mohair brushed 2 weight yarn held together and used a 5mm hook
